Worship Without Walls Christmas party
starting about 5pm at the Turning Point complex, 45th & Bedford (I'm not sure which building yet) Gail Knapp and Leslee Kronberg are calling this a "soup supper" and planning pots of warm comfort food for these chilly days. Bring whatever you like. There'll be no agenda except food, fellowship, probably some Christmas music. We're expecting folks from at least 5 area house churches to be there. Stay tuned for more details.

the Cobalt Season house concert

| We just love the Cobalt Season's new CD "In Search of a Unified Theory", and this Fall they are sharing songs and stories of the journey all over the country, mostly in house concerts:
"Most venues are set up to be one-way streets…where performers or speakers are given a microphone and expected to articulate their art/truth/whatever to the audience. We don´t buy into that. We hope/long/dream of a way of communicating our ideas in such a way where you and your community of friends can interact with them, chew on them, spit them out or digest them whole (hopefully not the last one)."
| Concert will be held at the Conroys' at 8225 N 46th St (near Florence, just a mile or so south of the Knapps). We'll start at 6pm with potluck dinner, concert will begin at 7 or so. We're hoping all the Tuesday folks will come, as well as other house church people in the area.
Also, visit The Cobalt Season's tour schedule and you'll see they typically get $5, $10, or more per person for their concerts, but they're coming to us on a "freewill offering" basis, so please come prepared to give generously if you are able. (But of course if you can't afford anything, PLEASE come anyway!) For more information, contact the Knapps or the Conroys

from Mongolia: Ingrid Kimmons
Mongolia: the land of Ghengis Khan and nomadic camel-herders, of the Gobi desert and rugged mountains, of Buddhism, Shamanism and Marco Polo's adventures. For most of the 20th century this land-locked country, sandwiched between Russia and China, was under communist control. And for the past 6 years or so, it's been home to Ingrid Kimmons.
Ingrid serves in Mongolia as an English teacher (the country is not open to traditional missionaries), but her real mission is to share Christ's message of hope in this land where few have ever heard it. A native Nebraskan, Ingrid is back in the US for a short while, and will be returning soon to her adopted homeland. This week she is our guest on Tuesday, and will be sharing pictures and stories from her experiences.
Come out if you can, and bring a friend, and let's show Ingrid some Tuesday hospitality. Our offerings this week will go to help Ingrid in her ministry, so whatever you can contribute would be much appreciated. Tuesday Aug.28th, 6:30PM (Gail Knapp is cooking!)

Greg Strange house concert
 |
Greg has been in youth/music ministry for many years and has several CDs to his credit, including Adventures in Oddity, Christmas with Mr. Strange, and Real Men Play Croquet. (Greg also produced Kyle's Burr Oak Acres CD under his Narrowpath Records label). This promises to be a fun evening as Greg shares his quirky wit, his eclectic music style, and his heart for Jesus. This is a great time to encourage the younger folks to come out. We'll be receiving a love offering to help Greg along the road. |

House Concert featuring Scott & Michelle Dalziel
 | Some of you may have heard Dalziel when they shared at Lighthouse on the Hill a few years ago. Well, you're in for a real treat now - they're doing a concert in our living room. If you can imagine Sheryl Crowe singing with Caedmon's Call, that might give you a bit of an idea of what's in store. Not only are Scott & Michelle highly gifted performers, they're old and dear friends as well. Let's all come out for food, fellowship and great music, and let's show them some "tuesday love!"

Frank Borst - Mime and Tap Dance Artist
 |
For this Tuesday's gathering, we'll be hosting a unique and special guest: mime and tap dance artist Frank Borst from St.Jo Missouri. (Yes, you read that right - tap dancing in the Knapp's living room!) In addition to pastoring a church in St.Jo, Frank (who received training in mime from the legendary Marcel Marceau, zowie!) travels extensively, encouraging creative expressions in worship through the arts. In September,
Frank and Kyle will be teaming up for a show at Perk Ave Cafe, but you can get a preview next Tuesday right here! For more about Frank's ministry, click here |

Frank Smith of Crushed Grapes
 | Once again we have the pleasure of a visit from Frank Smith. Frank has become a dear friend of the Tuesday fellowship. Considered a radical in some circles, we find Frank's insights on the Bible, spirituality, relationships, and "being the church" refreshing and powerful. You may not agree with everything he says, but we think you'll find him warm, engaging and stimulating. Join us for a unique experience. [You can visit Frank's website at www.crushedgrapes.org]

Niobrara Retreat
a bunch of us are planning to go "tubing" on the Niobrara River on Friday August 13th, 2004. We will be camping at the Merritt Reservoir (near Valentine NE). Thursday and Friday nights, and the excursion down the river will be outfitted by SunnyBrook Outfitters near Sparks. We are planning to baptize a couple folks in the river. If you're interested in coming along, let us know.

Worship Without Walls
We plan to gather for worship & fellowship on this date at Perk Avenue Cafe. Our hope is to join together with other house churches and
"underground" groups. No agenda, no institutional strings, no competition. Let's just get together and see what happens...

Guest speaker Frank Smith
 | this Tuesday, March 9th, we have a very special guest who will be sharing with us. Frank Smith travels around the world planting and encouraging house churches. Frank has a conversational manner, a keen insight born of years of experience, and a warm, friendly personality. You may find him engaging, intriguing, challenging, or crazy, but he is definitely NOT your typical church "motivational speaker". Join us for a unique experience.
