2008-06-01 Healing from Spiritual Abuse at Aquila's House
Today Kyle speaks with David Clute, spiritual abuse survivor and co-founder of Aquila's House, a support group for victims of spiritual abuse. We hear some bizarre stories from David's history in a cultic, controlling church, talk about psychological and emotional damage caused by such experiences, and learn a little about how God can work healing through supportive communities like Aquila's House.
Visit David online at www.aquilashouse.org, where you can read a detailed PDF account of David's cult involvement and subsequent "escape", and also find book recommendations, an online community and other resources.
2008-05-18 Pursuing Understanding without Bias (part 2)
...2nd half of conversation with Tim Price. We continue our discussion about "the Source New Testament" , bias in Bible translation, and how religious systems are a barrier to the honest pursuit of truth.
2008-05-18 Pursuing Understanding without Bias (part 1)
In Part One of this conversation with Timothy L Price we read some comments from listeners, talk a little about mythology and the new Prince Caspian movie, and take a look at The Source New Testament, a controversial new translation by classical Greek scholar Ann Nyland, and the benefits (and dangers) of an unbiased search for truth.
2008-05-17 Who is the thief, and what is he trying to steal?
Once again Thomas Freed III is our guest. Today's conversation centers around John10:10 "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy." This verse, often quoted out of context, is generally presumed to be a description of Satan, but in the context of Jesus' "Good Shepherd" discourse, where "true shepherds" who enter through "the Gate" are contrasted with pretenders who sneak in over the wall, the identity of the thief takes on quite a different appearance.
2008-04-02 Gary & Bonnie Jaeckle - Reaching out to those in Religious Bondage
Now more than a year out on their journey outside denominational religion, Gary & Bonnie Jaeckle (pictured sitting inside their motorhome) share about things they've learned (and UN-learned), the process of learning how to "just be with Jesus", stories of God's provision, and how He is leading them to minister to those coming out of denominational religion and reach out to those still trapped in spiritual bondage.
If you have questions or wish to dialog with Bonnie & Gary, or would like them to come to your area, email Gary at gjaeckle@hotmail.com, Bonnie at riveroflife.jaeckle@gmail.com, or call 712-309-1827
Conversation continues with Timothy L Price on a variety of topics, including: religious structures a caricature of God's reality, "charismatic" vs "non-charismatic" labelings, God is not a "closed book", the fruitlessness of denominational tactics to revitalize failing "local church" enterprises, "Christian TV" abominations, and of course, "spiritual nudity".

2008-03-18 Kyle & Tim continue the Kingdom conversation
Apologies for missing the last few weeks. Seems to be constant chaos around here, and we just haven't had time to record a new episode. For today's offering we've re-packaged a previously unpublished conversation with Timothy L Price (recorded in January) about the Gospel of the Kingdom.
Look for more talks with Tim on this topic in future episodes, as well as further conversations on the Spiritual Authority topic. (Other guests are also being lined up to share their stories and insights, so stay tuned...)

2008-02-18 Marv & Jodi Root: Seeking Spiritual Life Beyond Traditional Church
Today's guests are Marv & Jodi Root of Waseca Minnesota.
In this episode Marv and Jodi share about their background in a conservative denomination, and how their desire for deeper spiritual life has led them on a journey away from the familiar boundaries of traditional religion.
Like many of us who've moved "outside the box", Marv & Jodi have experienced isolation, rejection, self-doubt, and the pain of being misunderstood by those who were once close to them. Yet they have also found joy, comfort, and affirmation from the One who leads them and walks with them along the way.

In part 2 of this conversation, Tim & Kyle's continue to examine how false authority perpetuates religious bondage.
